Judy Thatcher - Teacher

Hi my name is Judy and I was born in the UK but have lived in several countries including Belgium, France, Australia and now Portugal. In Australia we used to catch funnel web spiders in our garden and take them to the local hospital where they were ‘milked’ to produce antivenom. We also had flocks of parrots, cockatoos and lorikeets in the garden every day.

I currently live near Pedrogão Grande in a very small village where I still feed all the local birds. I am married and my husband is a great cook and loves preparing bacalhau. My son lives in London and is a classical musician. He plays the oboe and is also a conductor. When I am not teaching I spend my time reading, listening to music, meeting friends and going for long walks.
