Kate Howcroft - Director of Studies

I've been the Director of Studies or 'DoS' at IH Coimbra-OSC since 2017 which is also when I moved to Coimbra.  I lived in the centre of the city for four years but have now moved to Ançã which is the village with the best cake in Portugal 😉

In my free time I love walking my dog and doing 'DIY' projects in my home and also love to travel when we have school holidays.  Visiting a new place on a sunny day and eating great food is my perfect way to spend time!  Before arriving in Portugal I spent ten years working in Asia so got to see lots of incredible things, my favourites were Angkor Wat in Cambodia and The Keralan Backwaters in India.  The strangest placed I lived was a city in Thailand called Lopburi, where there are many monkeys in the town centre who try to steal your shopping and even your sunglasses!
